Karen Thomas, CCIM, serves as Executive Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Services with KW Commercial and is the Southwest Region Ambassador for KW Commercial. A respected commercial real estate executive and industry leader, Karen brings more than two decades of experience spanning brokerage, leasing, asset management, operations, and development.
Prior to her brokerage career, Karen served as Operations Director for a regional commercial development company overseeing approximately two million square feet of commercial property and nearly 1,000 tenants. She also managed a national leasing portfolio for a publicly traded company, providing her with a unique owner, operator, and occupier perspective that continues to benefit her clients today.
Throughout her career, Karen has represented investors, developers, corporations, business owners, and property owners across a wide range of asset classes, including office, industrial, retail, land, and sports and entertainment properties. Her experience includes marketing and positioning a $10 million commercial development project, negotiating office lease transactions approaching 50,000 square feet, and advising clients on complex acquisitions, dispositions, leasing strategies, and development opportunities throughout the Southwest.
Karen is widely recognized for her commitment to advancing the commercial real estate profession through leadership, education, advocacy, and mentorship. She currently serves as President of the Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV), Southern Nevada’s leading commercial real estate organization, serves on the Board of Directors for Nevada REALTORS®, and is a Director for the Southern Nevada CCIM Chapter.
As Southwest Region Ambassador for KW Commercial, Karen collaborates with commercial practitioners, market center leaders, and regional teams across multiple states to promote business growth, knowledge sharing, and professional excellence. She regularly facilitates educational programs, industry discussions, and leadership initiatives designed to help commercial real estate professionals build stronger businesses and better serve their clients.
A passionate advocate for private property rights, economic development, and sound public policy, Karen is actively involved in legislative initiatives at both the state and national levels. Through her work with Nevada REALTORS®, the National Association of REALTORS®, and other industry organizations, she engages with policymakers and industry leaders on issues impacting commercial real estate, housing, business growth, and property ownership.
