Joe Williams

DEVELOPMENT
KW Austin NW

Although he is probably best known as the Cofounder of Keller Williams, Joe Williams much prefers to think of himself as a salesman first and entrepreneur second. As a licensed agent at 19, he put himself through school selling houses and finished up in Austin at The University of Texas  graduating with a BBA with a minor in Real Estate.

In the late 70’s he made the jump into multi-family brokerage and quickly rode the “Austin Wave” Cofounding KW along with Gary Keller in 1983. By 1986 the S&L Crisis hammered Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana & Colorado and the modern-day Keller Williams blueprint was formulated. Joe was always in sales throughout but after having seen the bargains available after the crash he watched savvy Investors from all over the world descend on the markets and he learned some invaluable lessons as he did developing, Home building and fund managing over the years. He is an expert in raw land entitlement.

He’s often observed that, “Agents have a bad habit of creating wealth for everyone but themselves!” He spent the last fifteen years refining the process for showing agents how to put smart investment projects together where they are normally General Partners and have a big hand in the eventual profits. He’s refined his presentation so that participants can walk away with the complete program from “soup to nuts”. As he says, “my goal is to have our agents very aware and prepared to take advantage of all the hard work they’re already doing!”
