John is a law graduate of UCT with an LLM from the University of Cape Town in Commercial and International Law.

During the 90's John was a partner at Murray & Smith, a law firm specializing in Commercial & Real Estate Law. As an investor and partner he was involved in numerous real estate developments and investments.

He is a 10 year Commercial Investment brokerage veteran, who started his career at Marcus & Millichap and is also involved in a successful consultancy providing consulting services to large financial institutions, accounting firms and private investors.

Due to his cross-border transactional background John and his team specialize in bringing to market multifamily, office, industrial and retail properties. In all of the aforementioned disciplines the Commercial Portfolio Group brings a value added mindset to the process by leveraging a wider range of investors resulting in enhanced returns for our clients.
