Bio: Commercial Real Estate Background Steve Van Lear serves as a commercial real estate agent for KW Commercial in North Carolina with particular focus on the North Mecklenburg County market area. With 33 years of commercial real estate experience, Van Lear has been involved in over $500,000,000 of commercial real estate sales, leases, asset management assignments, and consulting assignments. Prior to joining KW Commercial, Van Lear has been involved in commercial real estate assignments in North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, California, Nevada, and Texas. From 1976 through 1986, Van Lear developed land, owned multiple real estate investment companies, and managed and/or owned improved multi-family units as well as land parcels in the state of Colorado. He also acted as a lead multi-family investment broker for Grubb & Ellis in Denver. In 1986, he moved to San Diego, California and acted as Senior Vice President of Pacific Scene, Inc and was responsible for development and/or asset management responsibilities in California, Arizona and Texas. His duties included management of various sales, leasing, development, and asset management teams. In 1992, Van Lear moved his family to Charlotte, North Carolina where he focused on the sale and leasing of various retail and office developments. He also was involved in the rezoning and sale of commercial land throughout the Charlotte MSA. During that time, Van Lear became involved in historic properties and the development of same as well as the sale of historic tax credits. Van Lear is been a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) since 2001, has been active with the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors as an instructor of courses in the development of historic properties and the land development process. He has won numerous sales and development awards throughout his career. He is member of the Commercial Leadership Council for KW Commercial.
